Motorcycle Crashes Leave Two Riders Hospitalized

Saturday's Incidents Highlight Dangers of Impaired Driving

PEORIA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – Two separate motorcycle crashes on Saturday afternoon have left one rider in the hospital and another dead.

Gilbert Crash Leaves One Dead

In the first crash, a 23-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead after a DUI accident near Val Vista Drive on Tuesday afternoon. The Gilbert Police Department said the crash involved the motorcyclist and a pickup truck. Police believe impairment played a part in the crash.

Another Crash in Peoria

Later that afternoon, another motorcycle crash occurred in Peoria. The rider was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Police are still investigating the cause of this crash.

Impaired Driving a Factor in Both Cases

Police believe that impaired driving was a factor in both of these crashes. They urge motorcyclists to be especially careful on the roads, as they are more vulnerable to injuries in crashes than other vehicles.
