U.S. Military Approves Combat Helmet Design
Enhanced Combat Helmet to Provide Increased Protection for Marines
Proudly made in the U.S.A.
The United States Marine Corps has announced the approval of a new combat helmet design, the Enhanced Combat Helmet (ECH). This new helmet is the result of a joint program between the Marine Corps and the United States Army, and it is designed to provide increased protection for Marines in combat situations.
The ECH is made from a lightweight, high-strength composite material, and it features a number of improvements over the previous Marine Corps combat helmet, the Kevlar Lightweight Helmet (LWH). These improvements include:
- Increased ballistic protection against small arms fire and fragments
- Improved impact protection
- Reduced weight
- Improved fit and comfort
The ECH is also compatible with a variety of accessories, such as night vision goggles and communications headsets. This makes it a versatile piece of equipment that can be adapted to meet the needs of different missions.
The Marine Corps plans to begin fielding the ECH to its units in 2023. The new helmet is expected to provide Marines with a significant increase in protection, and it will help them to perform their missions more effectively and safely.
