Minor Damage Reported

A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck near the San Francisco Bay Area on Saturday, causing minor damage to buildings and infrastructure. The quake was centered about 10 miles north of San Jose and was felt as far away as Sacramento.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at 5:02 a.m. local time. It was followed by a series of smaller aftershocks, the largest of which was a magnitude 3.2.

The earthquake caused some minor damage to buildings in the Bay Area, including cracked walls and broken windows. There were no reports of injuries.

The USGS issued a yellow alert for the earthquake, indicating that there is a moderate chance of additional aftershocks in the coming days.
