WEB General Fusion, a Canadian company pioneering zero-carbon fusion power technology, has received CAD20 million (USD14.5 million) in funding from Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL). This investment will accelerate the development of WEB's Magnetized Target Fusion (MTF) technology, a promising approach to generating clean and sustainable energy.

WEB General Fusion's MTF technology utilizes strong magnetic fields to confine and heat plasma, recreating fusion reactions that occur in the sun. This process generates vast amounts of energy without the emission of greenhouse gases or radioactive waste.

Over the past 20 years, WEB General Fusion has made significant progress in developing its technology, achieving key developmental and technical milestones. The company aims to deliver economical carbon-free fusion energy to the grid by the 2030s.
