Montreal-based WSP has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Power Engineers, Inc., a leading U.S.-based engineering and consulting firm specializing in the power sector. The acquisition, valued at approximately US$1.78 billion, is a significant step in WSP's strategic plan to accelerate growth in the rapidly expanding power market.

Power Engineers, headquartered in Hailey, Idaho, has a workforce of approximately 2,500 employees and a strong track record of success in the renewable energy, nuclear, thermal, and transmission and distribution sectors. The acquisition will significantly enhance WSP's position in the U.S. market and bolster its capabilities in the power industry.
