Dodgers News: Bobby Miller Scratched from Triple-A Start, Walker Buehler Nearing Return

Miller Held Back in Case of Need

Los Angeles Dodgers top prospect Bobby Miller was scratched from his scheduled Triple-A start on Thursday night for precautionary reasons.

Miller was expected to take the mound for Oklahoma City, but the Dodgers opted to hold him back instead.

This move suggests that the Dodgers may be considering using Miller in the majors this weekend.

Buehler Nearing Return

In other Dodgers news, Walker Buehler's minor league rehab assignment is expected to last only one more start before he returns to the team.

Buehler has been on the injured list since June 10 with a flexor strain in his right arm.

He made his first rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, throwing 40 pitches over 2 1/3 innings.

Miller's Potential Role

If Miller is called up to the majors this weekend, he could fill a variety of roles for the Dodgers.

  • Starter
  • Long reliever
  • Spot starter

Miller has been impressive in Triple-A this season, posting a 2.78 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 10 starts.

Buehler's Impact

Buehler's return will be a major boost to the Dodgers' rotation.

He was one of the team's best pitchers last season, finishing with a 2.47 ERA and 10.6 strikeouts per nine innings.

The Dodgers are currently 54-46 and in first place in the NL West.
