Thrill Ride Set to Debut in 2025

Dive Coaster to Feature Record-Breaking Stats

Six Flags Great America has unveiled plans to construct a new roller coaster that will boast the world's steepest drop and the most inversions on any dive coaster.

The new attraction, named “Wrath of Rakshasa,” will debut in 2025 and will be the park's first new roller coaster since 2019.

According to Six Flags, the ride will feature:

  • A 164-foot drop, the steepest on any dive coaster.
  • Five inversions, the most on any dive coaster.
  • A top speed of 70 mph.
  • A ride time of approximately two minutes.

Six Flags Great America is located in Gurnee, Illinois, and is one of the largest amusement parks in the Midwest.

The new roller coaster is expected to be a major draw for the park, which already features a number of popular roller coasters, including the Goliath, the X-Flight, and the Raging Bull.

Dive coasters are a type of roller coaster that features a steep drop followed by a series of inversions.

The first dive coaster was built in 2000 at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.

Since then, dive coasters have become increasingly popular, with many parks around the world featuring at least one.

The Wrath of Rakshasa will be the fourth dive coaster at Six Flags Great America.

The other three are the Iron Wolf, the Superman: Ultimate Flight, and the Raging Bull.

The Wrath of Rakshasa is expected to be the most extreme dive coaster at the park.
