Lions Re-Sign Kicker Michael Badgley

According to his agent, NFL, the Detroit Lions have re-signed kicker Michael Badgley to a one-year agreement.

Who is Michael Badgley?

Michael Badgley was a member of the Detroit Lions' practice team before being elevated to the active roster for their Saturday night game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Badgley made two field goals, including a 43-yarder as time expired, to help the Lions win 24-21 and snap a six-game losing streak. He also made both of his extra-point attempts.

Badgley was a member of the Los Angeles Chargers for the first four years of his career before being released in August of 2022. He played in one game for the Indianapolis Colts this season before being released in October.

What's Next?

Badgley will likely compete with Austin Seibert for the starting placekicker job in Detroit. Seibert, who was signed by the Lions in October, has made 7 of 9 field goal attempts this season.
