Astros' Alex Bregman to Miss Weekend Series With Elbow Swelling

Bregman Describes Swelling in Right Elbow

Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman will miss this weekend's series against the Chicago White Sox due to swelling in his right elbow, according to Chandler Rome of The Athletic.

Bregman told reporters that he felt the swelling after Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. He underwent an MRI on Wednesday, which revealed no structural damage.

Bregman Expects to Return Soon

Bregman is expected to miss all three games of the series against the White Sox. He is hopeful that he will be able to return to the lineup next week.

“It's just a little bit of swelling,” Bregman said. “I'm hoping to get back out there as soon as possible.”

Astros to Make Roster Move

The Astros will need to make a roster move before Friday's game. Abraham Toro is expected to start at third base in Bregman's absence.

The Astros are currently 29-25 and in third place in the AL West. They trail the Oakland Athletics by 3.5 games.
