Cal Quantrill's Rockies Shut Down Surging Padres

Padres' Matt Waldron Struggles

The Padres' Matt Waldron has struggled in his two starts against the Rockies this year, allowing two runs in 11 ⅔ innings.

Waldron, a knuckleballer, has a 7-9 record and a 4.00 ERA this season.

The Padres have lost four of their last five games and are now 66-56 on the season.

Rockies' Comeback

The Rockies have been one of the hottest teams in baseball since the All-Star break, going 26-14.

They are now 59-63 on the season and are just 3.5 games out of the NL West lead.

The Rockies will face the Padres again on Thursday in San Diego.
