Ipswich Town and Ed Sheeran Launch New Third Kit
Limited-edition Kit Features Suffolk-Inspired Design
Ipswich Town Football Club and singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran have unveiled a new limited-edition third kit, designed in collaboration with Sheeran and inspired by the Suffolk region.
Kit Design
- Blackout design with purple trim
- Suffolk flag incorporated into chest graphic
- Sheeran's signature guitar pick logo featured on the sleeve
The kit is part of a three-year partnership between Ipswich Town and Sheeran, who became a minority owner of the club in 2023.
According to Ipswich Town CEO Mark Ashton, “The new third kit is a symbol of the club's deep connection to Suffolk and our exciting partnership with Ed.”
Sheeran's Involvement
Sheeran, an Ipswich native, played a key role in the kit's design.
- Incorporated elements of Suffolk's flag and landscape into the chest graphic
- Suggested the blackout design as a nod to the club's nickname, “The Tractor Boys”
- Designed a special guitar pick logo for the kit
“I'm so proud to have worked with Ipswich Town on this kit,” said Sheeran. “It's important to me that the design reflects the spirit of Suffolk and the club's loyal fans.”
Release and Availability
The third kit was officially unveiled on August 9, 2024, and is available for purchase at the club's official store.
The kit is expected to be a popular item among fans, with a portion of the proceeds going towards the Ipswich Town Foundation.
