Former Viking Quarterback Joshua Dobbs Traded to the 49ers
Dobbs Inks One-Year Deal with San Francisco
Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs has signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN.
The move comes after the Vikings acquired Nick Mullens from the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday.
Dobbs' Journey to the 49ers
Dobbs, a former fourth-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017, has spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, and Detroit Lions before joining the Vikings in 2022.
The 27-year-old has appeared in 15 games in his career, completing 57.6% of his passes for 559 yards and three touchdowns.
Dobbs' Versatility
Dobbs brings versatility to the 49ers, having also played wide receiver and running back during his college career at Tennessee.
He rushed for a 1-yard touchdown in the Vikings' Week 13 loss to the New York Jets.
49ers' Quarterback Room
The 49ers' quarterback room now includes Trey Lance, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Dobbs.
Lance is expected to be the team's starter in 2023, while Garoppolo is reportedly set to be traded.
