Houston Dynamo Earn First Win of the Season
Goals from Sebastian Ferreira, Darwin Ceren, and Fafa Picault led the Houston Dynamo to a 3-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps at BBVA Stadium on Saturday night.
Sebastián Ferreira opened the scoring for the Dynamo in the 25th minute, heading home a cross from Darwin Ceren. Ceren doubled the lead in the 55th minute with a left-footed shot from outside the box.
Fafa Picault Adds Third Goal
Fafa Picault added the third goal in the 75th minute, finishing off a counterattack that started with a clearance from goalkeeper Steve Clark.
The win was the first of the season for the Dynamo, who are now 1-1-1. The Whitecaps fell to 0-2-1.
Standout Performances
Ferreira, Ceren, and Picault were all excellent for the Dynamo. Ferreira was a constant threat in the air, Ceren was dangerous going forward, and Picault was clinical in front of goal.
Whitecaps goalkeeper Cody Cropper made several good saves, but he was let down by his defense, which was poor throughout the match.
What's Next?
The Dynamo will host the San Jose Earthquakes next Saturday, while the Whitecaps will travel to face the Seattle Sounders.
