Astros Carry 5-Game Winning Streak into Cincinnati, Day Off on Tap

Astros Dominate Phillies, Extend Winning Ways

The Houston Astros closed out a productive homestand with another victory, taking the rubber match against the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, the Astros clinched their fifth straight series victory and extended their winning streak to five games. They now head to Cincinnati for a two-game interleague series with the Reds, before returning home for a seven-game homestand.

Astros Shine Offensively and Defensively

Offensively, the Astros were led by Jose Altuve's two-run homer in the second inning and Kyle Tucker's solo shot in the third. Michael Brantley and Yordan Alvarez also chipped in with RBI singles.

On the mound, Luis Garcia turned in another strong outing, allowing just one run on five hits over six innings of work. The bullpen did the rest, with three relievers combining to allow only one hit over the final three innings.

Astros Look to Continue Streak in Cincinnati

The Astros will face a tough test in the Reds, who are currently in second place in the NL Central. However, the Astros have been playing well on the road this season, going 18-12 away from Minute Maid Park.

The Astros will have a chance to rest and regroup on Thursday before opening their series against the Reds on Friday night.
