LSU Cross Country Hosts 2024 XC Invitational on Home Turf

LSU Cross Country will host the 2024 NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships on Monday, November 18, 2024, the NCAA announced Wednesday. It will be the first time that LSU has hosted the NCAA Cross Country Championships. LSU has hosted three NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships (1985, 2000, 2019) and one NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championship (2013).

The NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships

The NCAA DI Cross Country National Championships are one of the most prestigious events in collegiate athletics and will bring together the best men's and women's cross country teams in the country for a day of thrilling competition. The championships will be held at the LSU Cross Country Course, a challenging and spectator-friendly course that is located on the LSU campus.

Course Layout

The LSU Cross Country Course is a 6,000-meter (3.73-mile) grass course that winds its way through the scenic Burden Woods on the LSU campus. The course is relatively flat, with a few rolling hills and a couple of sharp turns.

The start and finish line are located in front of the LSU Track and Field Complex, and the course loops around the Burden Museum and LSU's soccer and baseball stadiums before returning to the finish line.

Past Results

Since 2010, the LSU Men's Cross Country teams have won three NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships (2010, 2011, 2018) and have finished in the top 10 eleven times. The LSU Women's Cross Country team has finished in the top 10 four times since 2010 (2010, 2011, 2012, 2014).

The LSU men's team is currently ranked number one in the NCAA DI Cross Country National Coaches Poll, and the women's team is ranked number 24.

Ticket Information

Tickets for the 2024 NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships will go on sale in the spring of 2024. Ticket prices will be announced at a later date.
