Thursday Update: Gamecocks hosting impressive group of prospects
South Carolina welcomes in-state and out-of-state talent to campus
Thursday marked the first day of Gamecock football’s official in-person recruiting period and Shane Beamer and his staff took advantage of it by hosting dozens of prospects.
In-state visitors
A few of the most notable in-state visitors were OL Markee Anderson, DE Monteque Rhames, DB Toriano Pride, OL Javion Hunt, and DB Emory Floyd.
Anderson, Rhames, and Hunt are all four-star prospects who are ranked among the top 50 players in the state of South Carolina.
Pride is a three-star prospect who is considered to be one of the best safeties in the state.
Out-of-state visitors
The Gamecocks also welcomed several out-of-state prospects, including QBs Dante Reno and Colten Gauthier, WR Tyler Booker, and LB Cole Hutson.
Reno is a four-star quarterback who is ranked among the top 150 prospects in the country. Gauthier is a three-star quarterback who is considered to be one of the best passers in the Southeast.
Booker is a three-star wide receiver who is known for his speed and his ability to make big plays.
