Navy ship rescues 20 fishermen
The Philippine Navy ship BRP Teresa Magbanua arrived in Palawan on Thursday, May 12, with 20 rescued fishermen who were suffering from various illnesses.
The fishermen were rescued by the ship on Monday, May 9, after their boat capsized in rough seas off the coast of Palawan. The fishermen were taken to the Naval Station in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, where they received medical attention.
Several crew members came down with the flu
The BRP Teresa Magbanua is a multi-role response vessel that is capable of carrying out a variety of missions, including search and rescue operations. The ship is equipped with a medical facility that can provide basic medical care to patients.
The rescued fishermen are all expected to make a full recovery.
