Ryan O’Hearn Not in Lineup Tuesday
Slugging Outfielder Not Expected in Outfield Soon
Ryan O’Hearn is not in the lineup for the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox despite entering the year as the Royals expected starting left fielder.
O'Hearn had an impressive spring in 2023 slashing .305/.429/.737 with two home runs and nine RBI in 17 Cactus League games.
Stepping up to the Plate
With O'Hearn out, Edward Olivares will get the start in left field Tuesday. Olivares had a solid spring as well hitting .297/.412/.571 with two home runs and eight RBI. He also has the versatility to play all three outfield positions.
The Royals hope that O'Hearn can return to the lineup soon, but they are not rushing him back. The 29-year-old has had a history of injuries, so the Royals want to make sure he is fully healthy before putting him back in the lineup.
