Luke Altmyer, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound quarterback from Clinton, Illinois, is poised to make a significant impact on the Illinois Fighting Illini football program.

As a junior at Clinton High School, Altmyer led his team to a 12-1 record and a berth in the Class 3A state semifinals. He passed for 2,420 yards and 25 touchdowns, while rushing for 700 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Altmyer's impressive performance earned him a scholarship offer from the University of Illinois, where he enrolled in 2022.

In high school, Altmyer was named the team captain and led his team to a 34-3 record over three seasons as the starting quarterback.
