Beatrice Wedding: A Royal Extravaganza

A Fairytale Ceremony

On July 17, 2020, Princess Beatrice of York and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi tied the knot in a private ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor Great Park. The intimate affair, attended by close family and friends, marked a significant milestone for the British monarchy. Despite the scaled-back nature of the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the wedding exuded an air of elegance and tradition.

The Bride's Stunning Ensemble

Beatrice looked radiant in a vintage Norman Hartnell gown originally worn by her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 1962. The ivory silk taffeta dress featured intricate beading, a full skirt, and a delicate train. She accessorized with the Queen Mary Diamond Fringe Tiara, loaned to her by her grandmother. The tiara, created in 1919, is adorned with 47 graduated diamond bars.

The Royal Guests

The guest list included members of the British royal family, such as the Queen, Prince Charles, and Prince William. Beatrice's sister, Princess Eugenie, served as her maid of honor. Representatives from Edoardo's family, including his parents and siblings, also attended the ceremony.

A Touching Tribute

One of the most poignant moments of the ceremony was Beatrice's father, Prince Andrew, walking her down the aisle. This marked a significant departure from tradition, as it is customary for the bride's father to walk her down the aisle. However, Prince Andrew stepped in to support his daughter after her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, was unable to attend due to ill health.

A Private Reception

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests celebrated at a private reception at the Royal Lodge, Windsor. The reception was a more relaxed affair, allowing the couple to enjoy their special day with their closest loved ones. The menu included traditional British dishes such as afternoon tea and canapés.

A Royal Send-Off

The day concluded with Beatrice and Edoardo departing from the Royal Lodge in a vintage Aston Martin DB6. The car was once owned by Edoardo's late stepfather, Christopher Shale. The newlyweds were waved off by their guests as they embarked on their new life together.
