Al Hilal won their 18th Saudi Pro League title
Al Hilal secured their 18th Saudi Pro League title with a 2-1 victory over Al Ahli Saudi FC on Monday. Salem Al-Dawsari scored the winning goal in the second half stoppage time after Carlos Eduardo gave Al Hilal the lead and Omar Al Somah equalized for Al Ahli. With this win, Al Hilal have now increased their lead at the top of the table to eight points, with just three games remaining.
Al Hilal dominated the match
Al Hilal dominated possession and created several chances throughout the match. Al Ahli goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais made a number of saves to keep his team in the game. However, Al-Dawsari's late winner sealed the victory for Al Hilal.
Al Hilal have been in impressive form this season, winning 22 of their 27 matches. They have also scored 67 goals, the most in the league. Al Ahli, on the other hand, have struggled for consistency this season. They are currently fourth in the table, 15 points behind Al Hilal.
Al Hilal will now represent Saudi Arabia in the AFC Champions League
As the winners of the Saudi Pro League, Al Hilal will now represent Saudi Arabia in the AFC Champions League. The AFC Champions League is the most prestigious club competition in Asia. Al Hilal have won the competition on three occasions, in 1991, 2000, and 2019.
Al Hilal will be hoping to add to their AFC Champions League tally this year. They will be one of the favorites to win the competition, along with other Asian giants such as Guangzhou FC, Kawasaki Frontale, and Ulsan Hyundai.
