Anthony Edwards Hits Clutch 3-Pointer to Lift Timberwolves Over Kings

Timberwolves Improve to 2-2 in Preseason
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Anthony Edwards' clutch 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds remaining lifted the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 112-110 preseason victory over the Sacramento Kings on Monday night at Golden 1 Center.
Edwards' game-winner capped an 11-0 run by the Timberwolves to close the game. Sacramento had led by 10 points with 3:08 remaining before Minnesota's rally.
Edwards finished with 22 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter. D'Angelo Russell added 21 points, and Rudy Gobert had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves.
De'Aaron Fox led the Kings with 23 points, while Domantas Sabonis had 16 points and 13 rebounds. Sacramento shot just 39.8% from the field, including 28.6% from 3-point range.
The Timberwolves took a 10-point lead in the second quarter, but the Kings rallied to tie the game at halftime. Sacramento led by as many as 10 points in the third quarter, but Minnesota closed the gap to trail by just three points heading into the fourth.
The Kings appeared to be in control late in the fourth quarter, but Edwards' 3-pointer gave the Timberwolves the win.
The Timberwolves will host the Los Angeles Lakers in their next preseason game on Wednesday night. The Kings will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night.
