Razorbacks Rout Razorbacks 63-3
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks wasted no time in dispatching the Alcorn State Braves on Saturday night, scoring early and often in a 63-3 victory at Donald W. Reynolds Stadium.
The Razorbacks took a quick 7-0 lead on a 32-yard touchdown pass from quarterback KJ Jefferson to wide receiver Jadon Haselwood just 2:29 into the game. They would extend their lead to 21-0 later in the first quarter on a 1-yard touchdown run by running back Rocket Sanders and a 27-yard field goal by kicker Cam Little.
Arkansas would continue to pour it on in the second quarter, scoring touchdowns on a 10-yard run by Sanders, a 20-yard pass from Jefferson to tight end Trey Knox, and a 5-yard run by running back AJ Green. The Razorbacks led 42-3 at halftime.
The second half was more of the same, as Arkansas scored touchdowns on a 2-yard run by running back Dominique Johnson, a 3-yard run by Green, and a 25-yard pass from Jefferson to wide receiver Warren Thompson.
Jefferson finished the game 15-of-21 passing for 196 yards and three touchdowns. Sanders led the Razorbacks in rushing with 11 carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns. Haselwood led the Razorbacks in receiving with four catches for 75 yards and a touchdown.
The Razorbacks improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Braves fall to 1-2.
