Missing Woman Found Alive in Snowy Mountains
Injured Hiker Rescued After Spending Night Lost in the Wilderness
Search and Rescue Teams Locate Woman Thanks to Her Dog's Barking
A 68-year-old woman who went missing in Australia's Snowy Mountains has been found alive. She was found injured after spending a night lost in the wilderness.
The woman, identified as Robyn Bradley, was reported missing on Monday after she failed to return from a hike in the Kosciuszko National Park.
Search and rescue teams were deployed to the area, and on Tuesday morning, they heard the barking of Bradley's dog, which led them to her location.
Bradley was found injured and hypothermic, but she was conscious and able to talk to rescuers.
She was taken to hospital, where she is being treated for her injuries.
Bradley's family has thanked the search and rescue teams for their efforts in finding her.
“We are so grateful to the search and rescue teams for finding our mum,” said Bradley's daughter, Sarah.
“We thought we had lost her, but they never gave up hope.”
The Snowy Mountains are a popular hiking destination, but they can also be dangerous, especially in winter.
Hikers are advised to always be prepared for the worst, and to let someone know their itinerary before they go.
If you do get lost, stay calm and try to find a safe place to shelter.
Do not wander around aimlessly, as this will only make it more difficult for search and rescue teams to find you.
