Golden State Warriors Extend Win Streak to Five Games
Warriors Defeat Clippers, Pelicans to Remain Unbeaten
The Golden State Warriors continued their impressive start to the NBA season on Monday night, defeating the Los Angeles Clippers 112-97 and the New Orleans Pelicans 128-120 to extend their winning streak to five games.
Warriors' Offense Explodes Against Clippers
The Warriors got off to a fast start against the Clippers, shooting 53.8% from the field in the first half to take a 68-54 lead at the break. Stephen Curry led the way with 25 points, while Klay Thompson added 23.
The Clippers kept pace with the Warriors early on, but they couldn't keep up with the Warriors' hot shooting. Golden State hit 18 three-pointers in the game, including 10 from Curry.
Warriors Survive Pelicans' Second-Half Run
The Warriors faced a tougher test against the Pelicans on Wednesday night. New Orleans led by as many as 10 points in the second half, but the Warriors rallied to take the lead in the fourth quarter.
Thompson led the Warriors with 30 points, while Curry added 27. Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with 34 points and 14 rebounds.
Warriors Now 5-0
With their wins over the Clippers and Pelicans, the Warriors are now 5-0 on the season. They are the only undefeated team in the NBA, and they are starting to look like the team to beat in the Western Conference.
The Warriors will face their toughest test yet on Friday night when they travel to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks.
