Kyrgyzstan National Bank to Issue Gold Commemorative Coin Dedicated to Manas
Kyrgyzstan's National Bank has announced plans to issue a gold commemorative coin dedicated to Manas, the legendary hero of the Kyrgyz people.
The coin will be made of 999.9 fine gold and will have a face value of 10,000 Kyrgyzstani Som. It will be issued in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces.
The obverse of the coin will feature a portrait of Manas, while the reverse will depict a scene from the Manas epic. The coin will be designed by Kyrgyz artist Azamat Toktosunov.
“The issuance of this commemorative coin is a tribute to the great Kyrgyz hero Manas,” said Tolkunbek Abdygulov, Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic. “Manas is a symbol of courage, strength, and wisdom, and his epic is a valuable part of our cultural heritage.”
The commemorative coin will be available for purchase from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic starting on March 21, 2023. The coins will be sold for 12,000 Kyrgyzstani Som each.
