Atlético de Madrid bids farewell to Joao Félix with a loan to Chelsea
The Portuguese forward closes his stage in the rojiblanco team after three and a half seasons
Chelsea will pay eight million euros for the loan and will assume the player's entire salary
Atlético de Madrid and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the loan of Joao Félix to the London team until the end of the season.
The rojiblanco club will receive eight million euros for the loan and Chelsea will assume the player's entire salary.
The Portuguese forward closes his stage in the rojiblanco team after three and a half seasons, in which he has played 131 games, scored 33 goals and distributed 18 assists.
Félix arrived at Atlético in the summer of 2019 for 126 million euros from Benfica, becoming the most expensive signing in the history of the rojiblanco club.
However, the Portuguese forward has not finished curdling in the team and has not managed to become a key player for Simeone.
This season, Félix has only played 14 games, scoring four goals, and has not been a starter in any of the last five league games.
With his departure, Atlético de Madrid frees up one of the highest salaries in the squad and Chelsea gets a reinforcement for its attack.
The London team is currently tenth in the Premier League and is looking to strengthen its squad to try to climb positions.
Félix will be Chelsea's second signing in this winter market after the arrival of David Datro Fofana from Molde.
