First Round Victors Announced
Qualifying round matches for the 2023 Genius of Disability Debate competitions are over; final round matches begin in April
Three members have advanced to the final round of the Genius of Disability Debate competition.
We are pleased to announce the three competitors who have advanced to the final round of the 2023 Genius of Disability Debate competition.
The three finalists are:
- Samantha Artiga, a sophomore at the University of California, Berkeley
- Dylan Cruz, a junior at the University of Southern California
- Anika Jackson, a senior at Howard University.
The finalists will compete in a series of debates on disability-related topics. The debates will be judged by a panel of experts in disability studies. The winner of the competition will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship and a trip to Washington, D.C., to meet with policymakers.
The Genius of Disability Debate competition is a national competition for college students with disabilities. The competition is designed to promote critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership skills among students with disabilities. The competition is sponsored by the National Council on Disability
