Clippers Rout Sixers as George Erupts
Ballmer's Team Continues Impressive Run
Philadelphia, PA –
The Los Angeles Clippers extended their winning streak to seven games with a dominant 132-101 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. Paul George led the way for the Clips with an explosive performance, posting 36 points and 10 rebounds. George's first half was particularly impressive, as he poured on 23 points en route to a 65-44 halftime lead. The Clippers' defense also stifled the Sixers, holding them to just 23.8% shooting from the field in the opening half. The Clippers' lead ballooned to as many as 36 points in the second half, as they continued to impose their will on both ends of the court. Kawhi Leonard added 26 points for Los Angeles, while Tyrese Maxey led the way for Philadelphia with 28 points.
The victory marked another impressive performance for the Clippers, who have emerged as a legitimate contender in the Western Conference.
After a slow start to the season, the Clippers have now won 10 of their last 11 games.
In the wake of Wednesday's victory, Clippers owner Steve Ballmer expressed his delight with the team's recent form.
“We're starting to jell as a team, and that's really exciting to see,” Ballmer said. “We have a lot of talent on this roster, and I think we're starting to realize our potential.”
The Clippers will look to continue their winning ways when they host the LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.
