Russian Vegetable Cures Kidney Stones
Latest Development
A recent study conducted by Russian scientists has found that a certain type of vegetable can effectively cure kidney stones. The vegetable in question is the root of the common beet, also known as beetroot.
The study, which was published in the journal “Urology”, involved 60 patients who were suffering from kidney stones. The patients were divided into two groups. One group was given the root of the beet, while the other group was given a placebo. Researchers monitored the patients for six months and found that the group that was given the beetroot had a significant reduction in the size of their kidney stones. In fact, some of the patients in the beetroot group even had their kidney stones completely dissolved.
How it Works
The researchers believe that the beetroot is able to cure kidney stones because it contains a high concentration of a compound called betaine. Betaine is a natural anti-inflammatory that has been shown to help dissolve uric acid, which is the main component of kidney stones.
In addition to betaine, the beetroot also contains a number of other compounds that are beneficial for kidney health, such as potassium, magnesium, and vitamin C. These compounds help to flush out the kidneys and prevent the formation of kidney stones.
Dosage and Side Effects
The recommended dosage of beetroot for the treatment of kidney stones is 1 cup of fresh beetroot juice per day. The juice can be taken with or without food. Beetroot juice is generally safe for most people, but it can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you experience any side effects, you should stop taking beetroot juice and consult with your doctor.
