Leeds United Star BANNED: FA Release Statement After Millwall Flashpoint
Tyler Roberts to Miss Three Games as Punishment for Violent Conduct
Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts has been handed a three-match suspension by the Football Association (FA) following his sending off against Millwall on Saturday.
Roberts was shown a straight red card in the second half of Leeds' 1-0 defeat at The Den after a clash with Millwall defender Jake Cooper.
The FA has now confirmed that Roberts has been found guilty of violent conduct and will miss Leeds' upcoming matches against Cardiff City, Sunderland and Burnley.
A statement from the FA read: “Tyler Roberts has been suspended for three matches after an Independent Regulatory Commission found him guilty of violent conduct following a challenge on Jake Cooper of Millwall on Saturday 4th February 2023.
The suspension is a blow to Leeds, who are already without a number of key players through injury.
Roberts had started the season in impressive form, scoring three goals in his first six appearances for the club.
However, he has struggled for consistency in recent months and has now been dropped from the starting line-up by manager Jesse Marsch.
Roberts will now be hoping to regain his place in the team when he returns from suspension.
Leeds are currently 16th in the Championship table and are just two points above the relegation zone.
Marsch's side will be hoping to improve their form in the coming weeks and avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
