FC Schalke 04's unbeaten run came to an abrupt end as SSV Jahn Regensburg secured a dramatic 2-1 victory at the Jahnstadion Regensburg on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors took the lead in the 15th minute through Marius Bülter, but Regensburg levelled the scores just before the half-hour mark thanks to a penalty converted by Sarpreet Singh.

Schalke had been in impressive form heading into the Regensburg clash, winning six and drawing three of their previous nine league games.
However, they were unable to extend their unbeaten run as they were undone by a resilient Regensburg side.

Regensburg's victory was all the more impressive as they played the final 15 minutes with 10 men after Oguzhan Aydin was sent off for a second bookable offence.
However, the home side showed great character to battle back and snatch a dramatic late winner.
Schalke's top-two hopes dented
The defeat leaves Schalke in third place in the 2. Bundesliga table, six points behind leaders SV Darmstadt 98.
Schalke's hopes of automatic promotion back to the Bundesliga are now in doubt, and they may have to settle for a play-off spot.
