Trump: Haley and Pompeo Out After Failed Presidential Runs
Former President Donald Trump announced that Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo will not be part of his administration if he wins the 2024 presidential election.
Haley and Pompeo both ran against Trump in the Republican primaries but failed to gain traction.
Trump made the announcement in an interview with Fox News, saying that he was “disappointed” in Haley and Pompeo for running against him.
“I'm not going to have them in my administration,” Trump said. “They ran against me, they said a lot of bad things about me, and I'm not going to forget that.”
Haley and Pompeo have not yet commented on Trump's announcement.
Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, was considered a rising star in the Republican Party before she ran for president.
She was the first woman to serve as governor of South Carolina and the first Indian American to serve as governor of any state.
Pompeo, the former secretary of state, was a close ally of Trump's during his presidency.
He was a key figure in Trump's foreign policy, and he often defended Trump's policies on the world stage.
However, Pompeo's relationship with Trump soured after he left the administration.
In his book, “Never Give an Inch,” Pompeo criticized Trump's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and his decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.
Trump's announcement that Haley and Pompeo will not be part of his administration is the latest sign of division within the Republican Party.
The party is still struggling to come to terms with Trump's presidency, and there is no clear consensus on who will lead the party in the future.
