Blue Devils’ Eight-Game Winning Streak Ends at Rupp Arena
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky snapped Duke's eight-game winning streak with a 77-72 victory at Rupp Arena on Saturday night. The Wildcats were led by Oscar Tshiebwe's 20 points and 16 rebounds, while Antonio Reeves added 16 points.
Duke was led by Jeremy Roach's 17 points, while Kyle Filipowski and Dariq Whitehead each added 14 points. The Blue Devils shot just 38.9% from the field and were outrebounded by Kentucky 45-31.
The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than six points until the final minutes. Kentucky took a 73-69 lead with 2:36 remaining on a layup by Tshiebwe, and the Wildcats held on for the victory.
Duke’s Struggles Continue on the Road
Duke's loss to Kentucky was its second straight road loss, and the Blue Devils are now 2-3 away from home this season. Duke has struggled to shoot the ball well on the road, shooting just 39.8% from the field in its five road games.
The Blue Devils will look to get back on track on Tuesday night when they host Wake Forest at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Kentucky’s Win Streak Extends to Four Games
Kentucky's win over Duke was its fourth straight victory, and the Wildcats are now 9-3 overall this season. Kentucky has been playing well at home, winning all six of its games at Rupp Arena.
The Wildcats will look to continue their winning streak on Tuesday night when they host South Carolina.
