Three people in garbage truck taken to local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – A deadly crash involving a garbage truck and a pickup truck occurred in St. Petersburg Tuesday morning, leaving one person dead and three others injured.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the crash happened at the intersection of 38th Avenue North and 22nd Street North just before 9 a.m. A white pickup truck was traveling westbound on 38th Avenue when it collided with a garbage truck that was turning left onto 22nd Street.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 52-year-old St. Petersburg woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three people in the garbage truck, including the driver, a 38-year-old St. Petersburg man, a 32-year-old St. Petersburg man, and a 31-year-old Tampa man, were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating the crash. No further information is available at this time.
