Sainz – On the Constructors' Cup: We will fight until the end of the championship

Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz has stated that the Maranello team will continue to fight for the Constructors' Championship, despite a difficult start to the season.

Ferrari have only won one race so far this season, the Bahrain Grand Prix, and have fallen behind Red Bull and Mercedes in the standings. However, Sainz believes that the team has the potential to turn things around.

“We have a great car and a great team,” said Sainz. “We just need to put it all together and start winning races. We are confident that we can do it. We will fight until the end of the championship.”

Sainz's comments come after a disappointing weekend for Ferrari at the Monaco Grand Prix. The team failed to score any points, with Sainz finishing ninth and teammate Charles Leclerc retiring.

However, Sainz remains optimistic about the team's chances in the remaining races. “We know that we have a lot of work to do, but we are up for the challenge,” said Sainz. “We will keep pushing and we will never give up.”

Ferrari are currently third in the Constructors' Championship, behind Red Bull and Mercedes. The team will be hoping to close the gap in the upcoming races, starting with the Canadian Grand Prix on 19 June.

In addition to the Constructors' Championship, Sainz is also aiming to finish in the top three in the Drivers' Championship. The Spaniard is currently fifth in the standings, behind Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, Charles Leclerc, and George Russell.

Sainz has never finished in the top three in the Drivers' Championship before, but he believes that he has a chance this year. “I am driving better than ever before,” said Sainz. “I am confident that I can challenge for the championship.”

The 2022 Formula One season is set to be one of the most competitive in recent memory. Sainz and Ferrari will be hoping to challenge for both the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships.
