Five-star guard Trey McKenney has committed to play basketball at the University of Michigan over the University of Southern California and Georgetown University. The 6'3″ shooting guard is ranked as the No. 28 overall prospect in the 2024 class by ESPN.
Background
McKenney is a native of Durham, North Carolina and is widely considered one of the best shooters in his class. He averaged 25.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game as a junior at Durham Academy. McKenney led Durham Academy to the NCISAA 3A state championship in 2022 and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. He also helped lead Team CP3 to the 17U EYBL championship in July 2022.
