Penza hockey players continue their successful performance in the championship of the Higher Hockey League. On January 29, our team hosted the SKA-Neva team from St. Petersburg on its court. At the moment, the army team is one of the leaders of the championship, so our guys faced a difficult game.

The first period became a reconnaissance one for both teams. The guests acted more actively in attack, but Penza residents acted reliably in defense and did not allow the opponent to create dangerous moments at their goal. The hosts practically did not attack, but at the same time they acted very disciplined and organized, destroying all the attacks of the opponent. As a result, the first 20 minutes ended 0-0.

The second period began with attacks by the Penza team. Our guys seized the initiative and began to threaten the opponent's goal more and more often. In the 26th minute, Viktor Komarov opened the scoring in the match. A few minutes later, “Diesel” doubled the advantage – Kirill Rasskazov scored. After that, the guests tried to seize the initiative, but the hockey players of Penza confidently acted in defense and did not allow the opponent to create dangerous moments at their goal. The second period ended with a score of 2-0 in favor of the hosts.

In the third period, Penza residents continued to act actively in attack and, as a result, increased their advantage. In the 42nd minute, Alexander Shvarts scored the third goal, and in the 48th minute, Dmitry Semenov scored the fourth goal. After that, the guests tried to recoup, but the hockey players of Penza acted reliably in defense and did not allow the opponent to create dangerous moments at their goal. As a result, the match ended with a score of 4-0 in favor of Penza “Diesel”.

This victory allowed Penza to improve its position in the standings. Now our team is in 10th place in the Western Conference. The next match “Diesel” will play on February 1 on the road with “Khimik”.
