At the World Powerlifting Championship among men and women, the first place in the weight category up to 59 kg was taken by Artur Galeev, a native of the village of Verkhnie Kigi, Karmaskalinsky district.

Also the first place in the weight category up to 83 kg among men was taken by our countryman, a pupil of the Honored Coach of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rashid Rakhimov – Roman Mironenko.

In addition, Alexandra Anikina, a native of the village of Ordzhonikidze, Ordzhonikidzevsky district, took third place in the 72 kg weight category among women.
