Switzerland went ahead through Freuler but Mitrovic's double and a Vlahovic goal earned Serbia a famous victory
Serbia reached the Nations League Finals for the first time with a thrilling 3-2 win over Switzerland in Belgrade on Tuesday, while Italy's hopes of reaching the last four were ended by a 2-0 defeat by Hungary.
Serbia took the lead in the 26th minute through Aleksandar Mitrovic, but Switzerland equalised just before the break when Remo Freuler headed in from a corner.
Mitrovic restored Serbia's lead in the 55th minute with a fine header, and Dusan Vlahovic made it 3-1 with a clinical finish 10 minutes later.
Switzerland pulled a goal back through substitute Haris Seferovic in the 89th minute, but it was not enough to prevent Serbia from claiming a famous victory.
Serbia reach Nations League Final Four
Serbia's victory means they have reached the Nations League Finals for the first time. They will be joined by the Netherlands, Croatia and Spain in the last four.
The Finals will be held in June 2023, with the semi-finals and final taking place in the Netherlands.
Italy's Nations League hopes ended
Italy's hopes of reaching the Nations League Finals were ended by a 2-0 defeat by Hungary in Budapest.
Dominik Szoboszlai gave Hungary the lead in the 27th minute with a superb strike from outside the area.

Hungary secure Nations League promotion
Hungary's victory over Italy means they have secured promotion to League A of the Nations League.
Hungary finished top of their group, ahead of Italy, Germany and England.
They will now play in League A in the next edition of the Nations League, which will be held in 2024.
What does the future hold for Switzerland?
Switzerland's defeat to Serbia means they have failed to reach the Nations League Finals for the second time in a row.

Switzerland have a talented squad, but they need to find more consistency if they want to challenge the top teams in Europe.
