Almaty Maslikhat Deputy: It is necessary to involve youth in landscaping projects

Involving young people in landscaping and environmental projects will help instill in them a sense of responsibility for the city, says Deputy of Almaty Maslikhat Nurzhan Zhakupov.

“It is necessary to involve young people in landscaping and environmental projects, to instill in them a sense of responsibility for the city. The city administration and youth organizations should actively work together in this direction,” Zhakupov said at the 38th session of the Almaty Maslikhat.

According to Zhakupov, it is necessary to create conditions for the development of youth environmental initiatives, to allocate financing for their implementation, and to create opportunities for exchange of experience.

“Our city has a high potential for effective work with young people. Almaty has a large number of schools, colleges, and universities, as well as youth organizations. We need to use this resource efficiently to develop the environmental consciousness of our citizens,” Zhakupov said.

Zhakupov also emphasized the importance of continuity of greening work in the city.

“We need to create a system of continuous greening of our city, and the involvement of young people will help ensure the implementation of this task for many years to come,” Zhakupov said.
