Campaigners have warned that hundreds of families affected by the scandal could be left without compensation due to a lack of medical records. The daughter of one man believed to be affected by the scandal said the discovery of his medical records was “the greatest gift”.

July Government Announcement

In July, the government announced that from October, the estates of those who died as a result of the infected blood would be eligible for compensation. However, there are concerns that many families will be unable to access this compensation due to the lack of medical records.
