Both add-ons will launch on a yet-to-be confirmed date later this month. Homeworld 3's upcoming DLC is now launching all at once, with some big features being added for free. Originally, Blackbird Interactive intended to take a piecemeal approach to the strategy game's expansions, releasing them one at a time. However, the studio has since changed its plans and will instead launch all of the DLC content at once. Two major paid expansions will be joined by a host of free updates that will introduce new features alongside bug fixes and balance changes. The first expansion, Echoes of the Void, will introduce a new playable faction to Homeworld 3, the Vaygr. A nomadic race, the Vaygr will offer a different playstyle to the existing UEF and Khar-Kushan factions. They'll also come with their own unique set of ships and abilities. The second expansion, Into the Abyss, will take players to a mysterious new region of space, where they'll encounter new challenges and enemies. Blackbird Interactive hasn't revealed many details about Into the Abyss, but it's expected to be a substantial expansion that will add significant new content to Homeworld 3. Alongside the paid expansions, Blackbird Interactive will also release a number of free updates for Homeworld 3. These updates will add new features, such as a revamped unit selection system and a new minimap. They'll also include bug fixes and balance changes to improve the game's overall stability and gameplay. Blackbird Interactive hasn't yet announced a release date for the Homeworld 3 DLC, but both add-ons are expected to launch later this month. The studio has also said that it will continue to support Homeworld 3 with new content and updates in the future.
