IND vs AUS: Ruturaj Gaikwad To Captain India For Australia Tour
Nitesh Reddy Gets Maiden Call-Up
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the appointment of Ruturaj Gaikwad as captain of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming tour of Australia. This will be the 25-year-old's first assignment as captain of the national team.
Gaikwad has been in impressive form in recent times, having led Chennai Super Kings to victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He was also the leading run-scorer in the tournament, with 635 runs, including four centuries.
The BCCI has also announced the squad for the tour, which includes several new faces. Uncapped batter Nitesh Reddy has been given a maiden call-up, while the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, and Ishan Kishan have been recalled.
