Leicester news: Jamie Vardy on Steve Cooper
Foxes striker Jamie Vardy has been speaking about what manager Steve Cooper brings to Nottingham Forest and how he was 'surprised' by the way the young players performed after their victory over Leicester City.
The Northern Irishman replaced Chris Hughton at the end of September and has won three times and drawn once in his opening seven games in charge.
Speaking to the media after the game, Vardy praised Cooper for the way he has turned things around at the City Ground.
“He's a good manager,” said Vardy. “He's got them playing well and they're a good side.
“They've got some good young players and they're playing with a lot of confidence.”
One of the most impressive things about Forest under Cooper has been the performances of their young players.
Brennan Johnson, Djed Spence, and James Garner have all been in excellent form, and Vardy was particularly impressed with the way they played against Leicester.
“I was surprised by how well they played, to be honest,” said Vardy. “They were very good on the ball and they caused us a lot of problems.
“They're a credit to Steve Cooper and I'm sure they'll have a good season under him.”
Forest are now up to 19th in the Premier League table and will be looking to build on their recent good form when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
