Officials say they have identified 'a number of' fraudulent applications

Pennsylvania officials are investigating fraudulent voter registration applications in Lancaster County, they announced Monday. The Lancaster County District Attorney's Office said it is working with the Pennsylvania Department of State to investigate the matter. “We have identified a number of fraudulent voter registration applications,” Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams said in a statement. “We are working to determine the extent of the fraud and to identify those responsible.” Adams said her office has received reports of people receiving voter registration applications in the mail that they did not request. She said some of the applications have been filled out and returned to the county election office. “We are urging anyone who has received an unsolicited voter registration application to contact our office,” Adams said. “We will investigate the matter and take appropriate action.”

The investigation is ongoing

The investigation is ongoing, and Adams said she could not provide any further details at this time. She said her office is committed to ensuring the integrity of the electoral process in Lancaster County. “We will continue to investigate this matter and take appropriate action to protect the integrity of our elections,” Adams said. “We will not tolerate any attempts to undermine our democracy.”

The Pennsylvania Department of State said it is aware of the investigation and is cooperating with the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office. “We are committed to ensuring the integrity of the electoral process in Pennsylvania,” said Department of State spokesperson Wanda Murren. “We will continue to work with law enforcement to investigate any allegations of voter fraud.”
