Republic of Dagestan to provide humanitarian aid to Donbass republics

The Head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, instructed the republican government to provide humanitarian aid to the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics

The corresponding order was signed today, March 14.

The aid will include food, clothing, hygiene products and other necessities. The government of Dagestan will also send a team of doctors and nurses to the republics to provide medical assistance to the population.

“The people of Dagestan have always been sympathetic to the fate of the fraternal peoples of Donbass,” – said Melikov. – “We cannot remain indifferent to their suffering and we will do everything in our power to help them.”

The humanitarian aid will be delivered to the Donbass republics by truck and by air. The first batch of humanitarian aid is expected to arrive in the republics in the coming days.

The provision of humanitarian aid to the Donbass republics is part of the Russian government's efforts to support the region. Russia has already sent several humanitarian convoys to the republics, and has also provided financial assistance.
