Major Adam Wharton Injury Update Provided Before Wolves vs Crystal Palace

Wolves youngster set to return in 2023

Wharton suffered a broken leg in pre-season

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Adam Wharton is set to return from injury in 2023, the club has confirmed. The 19-year-old suffered a broken leg in a pre-season friendly against Crewe Alexandra in July. It was initially feared that Wharton would miss the entire 2022/23 season, but he has made a quicker-than-expected recovery.

Wharton is now back in training with Wolves' first-team squad and is expected to be available for selection in January. He is a highly-rated prospect and is seen as one of the brightest young players in English football. Wharton has already made three appearances for Wolves' first-team, including two in the Premier League.

Wolves head coach Julen Lopetegui is delighted to have Wharton back in contention. “Adam is a very talented player and we are excited to have him back,” Lopetegui said. “He is a great addition to our squad and we believe he can make a big impact for us in the second half of the season.”

Wharton's return will be a boost for Wolves, who are currently 19th in the Premier League table. The club is hoping to avoid relegation this season and Wharton could play a key role in helping them achieve that goal.
