Thomas Jefferson Rides Workhorse Tyler Eber in Playoff Win Over West Allegheny
3-TD Eber, stingy defense leads TJ to 42-20 victory
Thomas Jefferson 35-year-old workhorse Tyler Eber dominated yet again Friday against West Allegheny in the WPIAL Class 4A quarterfinals. Eber rushed for three touchdowns and 183 yards to lead the Jaguars to a 42-20 victory. Eber's longest run was 37 yards.
TJ's vaunted defense forced West Allegheny into four turnovers, including two fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
Eber continues to impress
Eber has emerged as one of the top playmakers in Class 4A this season. He has 1,500 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns on the season.
The 6'1″, 220-pound running back is a physical runner who is difficult to bring down. He also has good speed and agility and can make defenders. Eber has several Division I offers, including Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Penn State.
Jefferson defense shines
TJ's defense has been one of the most impressive units in Class 4A this season and was at it's best against West Allegheny.
The Jaguars held West Allegheny to just 20 points and forced four turnovers. TJ's defense has allowed just 10 points per game this season.
TJ advances to semifinals
With the victory, TJ advances to the WPIAL Class 4A semifinals, where they will face Peters Township next Friday.
Peters Township is the No. 2 seed in the WPIAL Class 4A playoffs and is coming off a 35-14 win over Belle Vernon.

TJ is now 10-1 on the season and is one win away from reaching the WPIAL Class 4A championship game. The Jaguars are playing with a lot of confidence and are a legitimate contender to win the WPIAL title.
