Pitt Programs Prepare for ACC Championships While Others Look to Finish Strong
Pitt Football
The Pitt Panthers football team is currently 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the ACC Coastal Division. They are scheduled to face the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday, November 26th, in their regular season finale.
A win over Virginia Tech would give Pitt a 9-4 record and a chance to finish in the top three of the ACC Coastal Division. The Panthers would then be eligible for a bowl game.
Pitt has been led by the strong play of quarterback Kenny Pickett, who is a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Pickett has thrown for 4,163 yards and 40 touchdowns this season.
Pitt Men's Basketball
The Pitt Panthers men's basketball team is currently 10-3 overall and 3-1 in the ACC. They are scheduled to face the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, December 4th, in their ACC home opener.
A win over Duke would give Pitt a 11-3 record and a chance to move into the top 10 of the national rankings. The Panthers would also be in good position to win the ACC regular season championship.
Pitt has been led by the strong play of guard Xavier Johnson, who is averaging 16.7 points per game. Johnson is a preseason All-ACC selection.
Pitt Women's Basketball
The Pitt Panthers women's basketball team is currently 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the ACC. They are scheduled to face the North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday, December 5th, in their ACC home opener.
A win over North Carolina would give Pitt a 10-4 record and a chance to move into the top 25 of the national rankings. The Panthers would also be in good position to win the ACC regular season championship.
Pitt has been led by the strong play of forward Aiko Oguho, who is averaging 15.6 points per game. Oguho is a preseason All-ACC selection.
Other Pitt Programs
In addition to football, men's basketball, and women's basketball, Pitt also has several other programs that are preparing for ACC championships.
The Pitt volleyball team is currently 20-10 overall and 11-7 in the ACC. They are scheduled to face the Syracuse Orange on Saturday, November 27th, in their regular season finale.
A win over Syracuse would give Pitt a 21-10 record and a chance to finish in the top three of the ACC standings. The Panthers would then be eligible for an NCAA Tournament berth.
The Pitt soccer team is currently 12-6-2 overall and 6-4-0 in the ACC. They are scheduled to face the Virginia Cavaliers on Sunday, November 7th, in their regular season finale.
A win over Virginia would give Pitt a 13-6-2 record and a chance to finish in the top three of the ACC standings. The Panthers would then be eligible for an NCAA Tournament berth.
